Starlite (Rainbow Brite) 6/10 Little weird that he seems to be drawn in a style that's like 3x more realistic than any other character in this show but hey sometimes you just ascend to a higher plane of existence. (2014 Reboot Starlite gets a 3/10. I do not trust him.)

Skydancer (Rainbow Brite) 7/10 I bumped Starlite down a point because he wants what Skydancer has. Skydancer doesn't need rainbows to fly. Skydancer has a lightning bolt. Skydancer has the Drama. (The one wiki page said he's a Shire or a Clydesdale and um I don't think so. Maybe a Friesian.)

On-yx (Rainbow Brite) This is a rocket powered balloon animal. 2/10

Sunriser (Rainbow Brite) 5/10 Eh. I like her hair though.

Swift Wind (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power/ She-Ra Princess of Power)

Right (older version) 8/10 I don't understand the wing physics going on here. Also not sure if the horn is part of the mask or just attached to the mask. Diggin the bib though. Also love that he's a ginger.

Left (new version) 4/10 If the older version wasn't there this would score higher because just as a character design I don't think it's bad but if these are supposed to be the same character he seems so cutesy and I do not vibe with it. I don't know either show. So maybe that works. But it feels wrong.

Amalthea (The Last Unicorn) 9/10 They gave the unicorn the split deer hooves, and the lions tail and that is automatic points from me. Bummed they didn't go all out and give us the goat's beard. But this is about how they are as HORSE designs. And these are magical gremlins not horses. 1/10 (WHAT is happening on the far right of this set. I do not approve. Zebra is fine though).

My Little Pony: A New Generation Like if the MLP: FM ponies and the Trolls characters somehow had children. Somehow the main character of Bee Movie was also involved. The one on the left makes TikTok thirst traps. -2/10

My Little Pony Tales 3/10 I can almost tell they're meant to be horses. Plus that one has a tattoo of a comb. So. Full extra point for the comb tattoo.

So here you are in a local recording studio, aptly named “Incubus Records And Radioshows”, that Levi rented out to record this next week’s episode of Otaku FM.

The violet-haired demon seems uncharacteristically confident in this moment, his thin fingers dancing over a complicated soundboard and adjusting his headphones. You sit across from him, gazing in fascination and admiration as you observe this silly man when he’s obviously “in the zone”. Everything has been running so smoothly as the recording went on. The conversation was sweet, playful, and natural. The music shared and discussed was a wonderful dive into Devildom music that you have never heard before. But now it was time for the fan question segment of the show.

“Alright MC, ready for some fan questions?” Levi asks as he lightly scrolls through his D.D.D with Devilgram opened.

You promptly quip back, “lay ‘em on me,” which draws a light laugh from your co-host for the day.

Levi clicks his tongue against his teeth, thinking as he looks through all the questions his audience submitted online before letting out a sound of approval and scootching closer to the edge of his seat to get closer to his mic. “MCCCCC- @Nobelest_Sinner asks “what is a habit you have picked up since being in the exchange program at R.A.D?” Levi looks at you with an expression crossed between genuine curiosity and a mischievous smugness.

You put your hand to your face as you vocal stim in deep thought. So many little things about your daily life and behavior has changed since you were initially iseki-ed into the Devildom, how could you possibly choose just one thing- oh. OH! Comedy gold strikes you quicker than Mammon can pickpocket. You have the perfect thing in mind for this. You slowly lean in really close to the microphone in front of you with the expression of a feline trickster before dropping your voice for comedic effect, “I don’t think ya’ll are ready for what I’m about to tell you.”

Levi’s eyes widen in shock before sharpening into curiosity. “Well now you gotta tell us normie.” You roll your eyes at the normie comment before divulging your newest habit the audience.

“I have started to just make up words and phrases, talking to Asmodeus about them as if they are real ‘human things’. He gets either really hyped up or invested in what I’m saying. Then I tell him that it’s not real and I made it up and his expression just,” you make a wide hand gesture while making a *whooshing* noise with your mouth, “falls and he looks at me like I just killed his firstborn son.” You smile widely at your co-host as you finish your story.

Levi’s jaw is just on the floor. Before you can make a comment on his shocked expression and something about ‘catching flies’, his voice perks up so much you thought his microphone was going to peak. “WAIT- wait wait wait wait. How is this a habit?” He says waving his hands around in confusion.

“Because no matter how many times I keep doing this, Asmodeus falls for it every time and the outcome is exactly the same.”

A silence fills the studio as you and Levi slow-blink at each other, you for comedic purposes and Levi in utter disbelief. The eye contact becomes too much as you both let out raucous laughter. Your head is thrown back and your hand is slamming at the table while Levi has his hands in his hair as his distinct laugh racks his body. The two of you are physically shaking with laughter for at least a minute before you both calm down enough to compose yourself and continue the commentary.

“He does this every time????” Levi asks in comedic disbelief.

“EVERY TIME!!” You say wiping tears of joy from your eyes.

“Why??”

“Why what?”

“Why,” Levi scrambles out jumbled noises, “why do you do this?? Why does he keep falling for it?? Why- whu- no wait, how did you even find this out?”

“Well Asmo and I were randomly talking about -isms, funny sayings and euphemisms and innuendos and whatnot. And I have this, well I guess you can call it a ‘bit’ with my human friends where instead of talking about sexual activities with actual words, we just make up words instead and we all just automatically understand what’s happening. Like- okay the example I used when this happened originally I said something like ‘squingusing my bimbus’ or something stupid like that. But Asmo didn’t question it, he just kinda tilted his head before he got excited about this possible new trend or human discovery he thought he made when I said that. So like, I rolled with it but I eventually told him that I made it up and the look on his face was just- death, despair, devastation.”

“So I guess you tried to do it again to see if he would make the face again?” Levi asks between chuckles.

Just kept on being shocked!” Out of the corner of your eye, you see a large LED timer draw closer to the end of your scheduled studio time and wrap up your thoughts with Levi about the whole situation before saying goodbye to the listeners and hearing the familiar sound of Leviathan’s outro.

The U.S. State Department has approved on Nov.19, 2024, a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Republic of Korea of components that will allow the upgrade of the country’s F-15K Slam Eagle fleet. The package, which has an estimated cost of $6.2 billion, follows the decision in 2022 to launch an upgrade program for the aircraft.

The Slam Eagles are the mainstay of the Republic of Korea Air Force’s (ROKAF) multirole missions, with a particular ‘heavy hitting’ long-range strike role. According to the available data, the country operates 59 F-15Ks out of 61 which were initially fielded in 2005. In 2022, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) approved the launch of an upgrade program planned to run from 2024 to 2034.

In particular, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s (DSCA) FMS notice says a number of components were requested for the upgrade, including 96 Advanced Display Core Processor II (ADCP II) mission system computers, 70 AN/APG-82(v)1 Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA) radars, seventy 70 AN/ALQ-250 Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) electronic warfare (EW) suites and 70 AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS).

In addition to these, South Korea will also get modifications and maintenance support, aircraft components and spares, consumables, training aids and the entire support package commonly associated with FMS. It is interesting to note that the notice also includes aerial refueling support and aircraft ferry support, so it is possible that at least the initial aircraft will be ferried to the United States for the modifications before the rest are modified in country.

Interestingly, the Korean configuration will also include the CMWS, currently not installed on the EX, so the F-15K will also require some structural modifications to add the blisters on each side of the canopy rail where the sensors are installed.

“This proposed sale will improve the Republic of Korea’s capability to meet current and future threats by increasing its critical air defence capability to deter aggression in the region and to ensure interoperability with US forces,” says the DSCA in the official notice.

The upgrade of the F-15K is part of a broader modernization of the ROKAF’s fighter fleet. In fact, the service is also upgrading its KF-16s Block 52 to the V configuration, integrating a new AESA radar, mission computer, self-protection suite, with works expected to be completed by 2025. These programs complement the acquisition of the F-35 Lightning II and the KF-21 Boramae.

The F-15K

The F-15K is a variant of the F-15E Strike Eagle built for the Republic of Korea Air Force’s (ROKAF) with almost half of the components manufactured locally. The aircraft emerged as the winner of the F-X fighter program against the Rafale, Typhoon and Su-35 in 2002, resulting in an order for 40 F-15s equipped with General Electric F110-129 engines. In 2005, a second order for 21 aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engines was signed.

The Slam Eagle name is derived from the F-15K’s capability to employ the AGM-84H SLAM-ER standoff cruise missiles, with the Taurus KEPD 350K being another weapon exclusive to the ROKAF jet. The F-15K is employed as a fully multi-role aircraft and is considered ad one of the key assets of the Korean armed forces.

With the aircraft averaging an age of 16 years and expected to be in service until 2060, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) launched in 2022 an upgrade program for the F-15Ks. The upgrade, expected to run from 2024 to 2034, is committed to strengthening the mission capabilities and survivability of the jet.

The F-15K currently equips three squadrons at Daegu Air Base, in the southeast of the country. Although based far from the demilitarized zone (DMZ), the F-15K with its SLAM-ER and KEPD 350 missiles can still hit strategic targets deep behind North Korean borders.

The new capabilities

It is not yet clear if the F-15K will receive a new cockpit, since its configuration will be similar to the Eagle II. In fact, the F-15EX has a full glass cockpit equipped with a 10×19-inch touch-screen multifunction color display and JHMCS II both in the front and rear cockpit, Low Profile HUD in the front, stand-by display and dedicated engine, fuel and hydraulics display, in addition to the standard caution/warning lights, switches and Hands On Throttle-And-Stick (HOTAS) control.

Either way, the systems will be powered by the Advanced Display Core Processor II, reportedly the fastest mission computer ever installed on a fighter jet, and the Operational Flight Program Suite 9.1X, a customized variant of the Suite 9 used on the F-15C and F-15E, designed to ensure full interoperability of the new aircraft with the “legacy Eagles”.

The F-15K will be equipped with the new AN/APG-82(V)1 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar. The radar, which has been developed from the APG-63(V)3 AESA radar of the F-15C and the APG-79 AESA radar of the F/A-18E/F, allows to simultaneously detect, identify and track multiple air and surface targets at longer ranges compared to mechanical radars, facilitating persistent target observation and information sharing for a better decision-making process.

The AN/ALQ-250 EPAWSS will provide full-spectrum EW capabilities, including radar warning, geolocation, situational awareness, and self-protection to the F-15. Chaff and flares capacity will be increased by 50%, with four more dispensers added in the EPAWSS fairings behind the tail fins (two for each fairing), for a total of 12 dispenser housing 360 cartridges.

EPAWSS is fully integrated with radar warning, geo-location and increased chaff and flare capability to detect and defeat surface and airborne threats in signal-dense and highly contested environments. Because of this, the system enables freedom of maneuver and deeper penetration into battlespaces protected by modern integrated air defense systems.

The AN/AAR-57 CMWS is an ultra-violet based missile warning system, part of an integrated IR countermeasures suite utilizing five sensors to display accurate threat location and dispense decoys/countermeasures. Although CMWS was initially fielded in 2005, BAE Systems continuously customized the algorithms to adapt to new threats and CMWS has now reached Generation 3.
